“I chose this goal because it’s outdoors, doing things I love with people I love.”
Kia ora, I’m Jodie from Silverdale. I am a passionate, optimistic, determined, hard-working woman who cares deeply for people and loves working alongside others to help them reach their goals and dreams. I was diagnosed with MS in 2019 and am fundraising for Mastering Mountains.
Why I’m Fundraising
With the support of Mastering Mountains, I want to cycle the Hunua Traverse, then the Hauraki Rail Trail to Te Aroha South (Wairere Falls Track) in three days, finishing with a hike to Wairere Falls Track on the final day – covering almost 170 km in total. My family will be cheering me on, and I would love your support.
I chose this goal because it’s outdoors, doing things I love with people I love. The location and terrain are accessible whilst being challenging and beautiful. I want this challenge and the preparation for it to be full of moments of connection with the outdoors, my family, friends, and myself. I’ll also focus on consistency and being present in the journey of progressing towards my goal, noticing the small improvements and being kind to myself on the tougher days.
I will use my journey to raise funds and awareness for other people with MS. Mastering Mountains Charitable Trust has given me a grant that helps me get the specialist support and gear I need to accomplish my goal. I want to enable others to get the help they need to enjoy the outdoors and achieve their adventure dreams.
